All the Sisters of Mary Alumni from Cebu or from any other branch are encouraged to get involve or witness and experience, the take the lead of the Fr. Al's CUP event this comming June 20, 2010 that will be hold in The Sisters of Mary (Boystown Complex) Tungkop, Minglanilla, Cebu starting from 7:00am to 4:30pm.

Now, maybe you've been wondering, "What is Fr. Al's CUP all about?". Fr. Al's CUP is an annual sports event in honor of the Sisters of Mary School founder Msgr. Fr. Aloysius Schwartz.

Maybe you will be asking, "What are the events on this day that's worth witnessing, etc.?". Then the event's flow listed below would be my honest suggestion for you.

World Bloggers Day 2010

Blogging is some sort of pastime for me. It serves as my journal where I will log my experiences, and other things that will come up in my mind. And yesterday the first ever World Bloggers Day was held at Parkmall Mandaue City Cebu where all bloggers in all places were invited to join the said ~~blogger's historical~~ event.

I was there and it was quite cool to be with and see the amazing bloggers. There are bloggers that are from different places who made it there. Congratz bloggers for this wondrous event.

CBS General Assembly 2010

I officially became a member of the Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) way back November 2008. I just joined them once with their gatherings last January 2009 (Sinulog2009 I think). It was an eating session and I met and knew some of the members. After that, I became inactive and haven't joined any CBS activities anymore and I was thinking I'll be terminated as a member. I chatted Mark Monta (CBS founder) early this year and said to him that I will attend a certain activity (I forgot what was that) and he replied to me "member pa diay ka?". Without any malice I replied "member pa cguro kay maka login paman ko sa forum then naa paman akong name sa members list.", then he said to me "la paman kaha ka kadawat ug notice gikan sa membership committee, member pa ka".
I was thinking about that "notice" thing, and then conclude that I will really attend on the next event. When the day of the event come, it ends up that I couldn't came, I was unexpectedly sick at that time and could not help myself but just to stay home and rest.

A few weeks ago I received an email that there will be a CBS general assembly that will be held at Parkmall, Mandaue City Cebu, I was thinking that I will really came. And it was not a failure anymore, I really did it! It was last Saturday May 1, 2010.
I was there and met the Cebu Bloggers seeing new faces. I felt awkward because I only knew few of them but it was just ok. The event started at around 5pm and it goes fine (of course). They talked about the previous achievements to enlighten us, and of course not only our country will elect a new set of leaders this May, also the CBS and congrats to the new set of leaders. That event was also the renewal of CBS membership. It ends up at around 8pm and it was nicely done. I wasn't trembling in anxiety or awkwardness... ^_^ ..

Hoping that the CBS will continue the outstanding achievements this year and the succeeding years. I'll try also to be an active member...."for good" .... ^_^ ....

Quit Smoking

Last day, somebody gave me this magazine. I didn't even read what's title of the magazine upon receiving. I just fold it immediately and go. Few minutes later I look at the cover and it's entitled "Awake! How to quit smoking." I pause for a while and said to myself.... "Do I look like a smoker? Why did he gave me this?"... I just kept it, maybe I can use it some other time if I stumble to a friend that's suitable for this magazine.

This morning I got a time reading some of the contents in it. The magazine really shares some interesting topic that maybe a of great help to smokers who are interested in quiting. There's a certain title there that says "Strengthen Your Motivation". It says. How can you strengthen your motivation? For one thing, consider how much better off you will be if you quit smoking. And here are the list that it says to be considered. "You will save money","You should get more joy out of life", "Your health may improve", and "You will boost your self confidence".

Those are the things that I like on that article.

Maybe I should hear answers from smokers on this question... this is from me.. "what is good in smoking? what benefit will I get? what is it for?". Maybe I will be a smoker someday if I can hear some interesting answers on this..

A place worth remembering

In this summer it's common that we will go to other places for vacation or leisure, most commonly beaches.

Last April 10-11, 2010, the officers of the Alumni of the Sisters of Mary school conduct and LTS (Leadership Training Seminar) and we held it in Canigao Island Leyte. I'm invited to go with them of course. And the adventure starts.

We depart from Cebu at 9pm for Hilongos Leyte, and thanks to Roble Shipping for free Accomodation ^_^. It was my first time going to Leyte and it took us for about 5 hours upon arriving the said destination. As we arrived in Hilongos, we stayed at the house of Timoy and preparing for our breakfast. After filling up our tummy we depart for the said destination (Canigao Island). We still need to ride a pump boat from the main land to reach there.

As we are approaching the island and envisioned it.. I really said with excitement... "Nindota OI!!!!"

I like the white sand.

In the afternoon we witnessed the sunset.

And....... who got the sexiest pose here..???

And There... I witnessed the beauty of Canigao Island, Leyte, Philippines... ^_^ ...

Sisters of Mary Cebu - Girlstown Confirmation

Confirmation, is one of the seven sacraments through which Catholics pass in the process of their religious upbringing. In this sacrament they receive the Holy Spirit.

Last week our alumni president ~~Ms. Estella Cabardo~~ informed me that there will be an incoming initation of the Sacrament of Confirmation to the students of Sisters of Mary School - Girlstown on September 10, 2009...., and she invited me to be one of the Godfather. Whoppsss!!! I pause for a while and think, "is it OK?" I talked to myself. Hmmm... after a minute of thinking I came up with an affirmative answer.. So.. there it goes.

The day came and I became the Godfather of this eight children ~~actually there are nine of them, I dont know why she's not in the picture ^_^~~ with Estella Cabardo as my partner ~~the Godmother~~. It's quite awkward for me that they take my hand to their forehead as a sign of respect since our gap is five or six years only.. ^_^ .

As I observed, I think I'm the youngest among the other Godparents in there.. Anyway it goes fine.

After the event they gave me this cute cards and a rosary from the Sisters. It's nice reading their messages.. ^_^ .. Some message sounds funny some are inspiring and some has touching stories..

Well...... I like it..

Question for Girls

"When to say yes when someone's courting you?" or "What are your basis to accept a man asking your affection?"

SMS-Cebu 12th batch reunion

Nothing can compare the happiness if we'll be with our old friends. That's why we, the officers of our batch that graduated from the Sisters of Mary School decided to have a reunion or bonding as we say. We've decided to have it on summer so that those who are currently studying can join with us too. The date that it was held was on May 17, 2009 at Blue Reef Beach Resort, it was Sunday. I was late in going there, I arrived on the said resort at 9am already. I was shocked (O.M.G. I murmured) because I didn't expect that many would come because only few confirmed that would go with us and only few paid their contribution.

It was indeed worth it, we've shared Laughters, Food, Wines, and Beers until dusk.

Side effects of drinking alcoholic beverages

Drinking alcoholic beverage is one of my pastime pleasures especially if there's no work. Sometimes moderate drinking, sometimes too much. Though I'm already aware what are the effects of too much drinking alcoholic beverages but anyway I'm not drinking too much always.

Drinking alcohol affects your nervous system and acts as a mild anesthetic and tranquilizer. It is harmful if consumed in large amounts. It can be an addictive substance. Alcohol is a leading cause of traffic accidents.

Moderate drinking is defined as 1 to 2 glasses of beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverage daily. Moderate alcohol consumption, has been shown to improve cardiovascular (heart and blood vessels) health.

Continued, excessive use of alcohol can damage the liver. It can cause alcoholic hepatitis and a fatty liver. A fatty liver can progress to cirrhosis of the liver, a potentially fatal condition.

Alcohol increases the risk of developing cancer of the esophagus, throat, larynx, mouth, and breast.

Drinking alcohol can damage the lining of the small intestine and the stomach, which affects the body's ability to absorb essential nutrients.

Alcohol can impair sexual function, even though it may increase your interest in sexual activity.
Pregnant women should not drink alcohol. Alcohol intake during pregnancy has been identified as the cause of fetal alcohol syndrome.

But even with those side effects of consequences. Why we still drink those alcoholic beverages? I could not give you the exact answer, maybe you or others can give an answer to that question. The only answer that I can give is that "for pastime pleasure" as I've said.

Tabugon Escapade

Last Weekend my officemates an I went to the resthouse of our boss in Tabugon. We arrive there Sunday April 26, 2009 noon, it's really amazing and there's a sea beneath the house. Eventhough the sunrise is pricking like needles in our skin we are tempted to swim in the sea because it's so nice.

SOM Alumni Batch Dinner

Dangerous Consequences of Too Much Stress At Work and How to Manage it

I've read articles about stress in the web because I feel sometimes I'm so stress in my work. I'm looking for the consequences of too much stress of men and how to overcome it.

I learned that too much stress at work also makes men sick. In fact, a high rate of stress can drain men of their strength and vitality. It makes a man feel dissatisfied with their jobs. Stress can even make someone make a false assumption as if the company does not take note of their achievements at work. This points out that depression creeps in when one is stressed out. Stress weakens the body and its immune system. When the immune system is weak enough, men become vulnerable to stress related diseases such as heart disease and mental illnesses. Symptoms such as exhaustion, vulnerability to illnesses, short tempers or leaning towards alcoholism are signs that a man is stressed at work.

While stress affects everyone in a unique way, there are certain factors that are common. If you are experiencing any of the following, it could be a sign that you’re being affected by stress:

Headaches: Certain types of headaches can be related to stress. If you’re experiencing more headaches, especially tension headaches, stress could be the culprit.

More Frequent Colds or Flu: There’s an inverse relationship between stress and immunity, so if you’re under too much stress, you may be getting sick more often.

Sleep Problems: There are many ways that stress affects sleep. Too much stress can rob you of sleep and make the sleep you get less restorative.

In order to manage your stress you need to make some lifestyle changes. Here is a quick rundown of the simple changes you can make (as soon as today) to begin lowering stress levels.

One of the simplest yet most effective ways to reduce stress is to eliminate caffeine from your diet.

Elevated stress may cause weight gain so ensure you are eating a balanced diet and receiving plenty of exercise.

The act of exercising greatly reduces the effects of stress on your body.

Get enough sleep. Most adults do not get nearly enough sleep for the body to rejuvenate.

Allow yourself leisure time to enjoy your hobbies like reading, sewing, or music.

The Differences Between Men and Women

Men's magazines often feature pictures of naked ladies. Women's magazine also feature pictures of naked ladies. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is hairy and lumpy and should not be seen by the light of day.

Sinulog 2009- henna Art

January 18, 2009, Cebu celebrated Sinulog in Honor with Sr. Santo Niño. It was my first time I go with the crowd and witness parades and some street mardi gras. I used to stay at home on the previous sinulog and just watch television.

Since it is was my first time, so I think of something that's popular in sinulog.... and here it is...

A henna on my lower right arm. The artist of this was "Timoy", one of my friend (~~co-alumni of the Sisters of Mary School and co-blogger~~). He said that this will last one to two weeks, that's why I wanted it because it's temporary.

This is how it looks after 1 day. I'll just wait until this henna will be gone and if I have skin alergy of the ink used.

SMS - Alumni Bonding

It's a lot of fun to be with my co-alumni of the Sisters of Mary School in there bondings/get-together. Sharing almost the same spirit thought to us (~~unsa kaha nga spirit??hhehehe~~). . . Actually almost all who are present in the bonding are also chatters ..^_^..

Gettogether with friends

It's been one or two months ago since we last met with my friends, so we decided last Friday ~~November 21, 2008~~ to meet again at Basak, Lapu-lapu and have some fun because it's also a City fiesta there.

We're all from work at that time, we're all starving since we've gathered at around 9pm already at the boarding house of Carl and Maeza. We have short conversations and some jokes before we've decided to eat.

Ang akong pina ka unang nabantayan kay kini si Joenar. Sa katapusang panagkita namo taas pa iyang buhok. Ambot ug unsay nakaon sa kanahan nga nag patahal man. Pero kani siya pwerting pa gwapo kunuhay,

Mao ni siya si Carl a.k.a kaloy. Simple lang kaau ang pangandoy sa kinabuhi. Ang makapa cute2x atubangan sa camera...LOL.. peace.... ^_^ ...

Hooohhhh..!!!... natambalan na jud ang hilab sa iyang tiyan, atong ma matyagan nga pwerting gutoma kay kung "luwag" palang ang gigamit ana masulod gihapon sa baba. Bilib jud ko aning "Mitch".. walay kaikod sa uban... hehehe .. ^_^ ..

After we make ourselves we go to a place(~~FHM Pinoy Grill ^_^~~) where we can do relaxation and fun, and we're drinking some alcoholic beverages until 2am in the next day.. ^_^ ..

Camotes Island Visit

Last Saturday and Sunday ~~November 15-16, 2008,~~ it's my day off. I have nothing to do on that days so I'm thinking to visit the place ~~"Altavista, Poro, Camotes, Cebu"~~ where I was born, and to visit my relatives.

As I arrived there ~~"Saturday noon"~~, after some conversation with my relatives I went immediately to ~~"quarry"~~ my favorite place. This is where I always go when I'll go to Camotes Island for vacation because of the very nice view and this is the place where I'll play with my childhood friends during my childhood days.

On the second day I have nothing to do in the house, so what I did is that I borrowed the motorcycle of my uncle and go to Buho Rock Resort. It’s beauty inspires. From the viewing deck, you need to walk a steep flight of winding stairs to get to the main structure down below. There, you can enjoy a dive, which is probably a good 20-30 feet from your drop-off point . It's really very nice..

Sisters of Mary - Cebu 12 batch bonding

It's been four years after we've graduated from the Sisters of Mary - Cebu and this is my first time going with my batchmates in batch gathering/bonding/get together. It's amazing, though we're just few attendees. I've enjoyed!!!

A programmer may have different character from other people who have

different work. This article doesn't reflect my personal opinion but some

statistics collected on software programmers especially engineers.

The following personality is common among programmers:

Use only his head and hands.
When interrupted responds violently.
Can concentrate 12-16 hours at a time.
Less adaptive and have small social activities. Even concerned with computer. (e.g.: chat, mail groups, forums, etc.)
Practical and logical.
Quiet serious and shy.
Optimism regarding time estimates.
Loyalty to the profession rather than the employer.
Low motivation towards management responsibilities.

I think there's only one word to describe all of those..... "NERD".

I don't think so if I have this kind of characteristics.... hehehehe.......

Advantage and Disadvatage of Computers

Computers can calculate easily without a single mistake even in large amount of numbers, provided if you give the correct formula to be executed....... However....

It is difficult for them to identify patterns like images......

It is easy for us to trace hand writings and double lines,

but we can not indicate their equations, which makes computer hard to understand. The computer can decide the same shapes,

but if the shapes transform slightly, it's hard for them to decide.

AJAX issues

AJAX is growing very fast and that is the reason that it contains many issues with it. We hope with the passes of time they will be resolved ab AJAX will be ideal for web applications. The list below are some issues encountered in Ajax. Which is proven myself too.

Complexity is increased

Server side developers will need to understand that presentation logic will be required in the HTML client pages as well as in the server-side logic.
Page developers must have JavaScript technology skills.

AJAX-based applications can be difficult to debug, test, and maintain

JavaScript is hard to test - automatic testing is hard.
Weak modularity in JavaScript.
Lack of design patterns or best practice guidelines yet.

Toolkits/Frameworks are not mature yet

Most of them are in beta phase.

No standardization of the XMLHttpRequest yet

As they say, future IE will address this, don't know yet.

No support of XMLHttpRequest in old browsers

Iframe will do.

JavaScript technology dependency & incompatibility

Must be enabled for applications to function.
Still some browser incompatibilities.

JavaScript code is visible to a hacker

Poorly designed JavaScript code can invite security problem. The passwords/username will be seen on view source.

But anyway AJAX very helpful already for me. The list of issues above are the worst scenario.......

View the Private Photo of your friends in friendster

The manual way is:

In FRIENDSTER, some people can hide some photos that they upload into friendster albums. Usually this photos is private picture or something like secret picture. If we want to see that picture, we must ask permission from the owner..
2 days ago, i found some hacking into this private photo, so we can see private photos from other people friendster account..
The 3 things that you must do to see the private photo is
1. target uid

example : http://www.friendster.com/53349334
41082848 - is target UID ( it's just example, so find your target first )

2. target album id write this address into your addressbar http://www.friendster.com/viewalbums.php?uid="Your target uid here"

example : http://www.friendster.com/viewalbums.php?uid=53349334

Select View - Page Source from the browser menu, and then find "abAlbumPrivacy" near the word private

example :

 "abAlbumPrivacy-1" -- all you need is the number in the end of word,
in this case the number is 1 ( one )

3. Open
http://www.friendster.com/photolist_ajax.php?uid="your target uid here"&a="album privacy id here"&page=0

You will get result like this..
